Transport Properties of the Lévy-Lorentz gasThe Lévy-Lorentz gas describes the one-dimensional motion of a particle among scattering points with heavy-tailed spacing. In this seminar I discuss the asymptotic transport properties of the Lévy-Lorentz gas assuming that the distances between scatterers are regularly varying at infinity with finite mean. In particular, I demonstrate that the motion is
normal diffusive conditional on a typical realization of the scatterers arrangement, whereas it is superdiffusive under averaging over the environment.
