Mathematical Modeling in the age of Data: an exampleIn the last 20 years the growing amount of Data opened the question of finding good ways to analyze them and, in particular, to create new mathematical models which allow to interpret them. In this talk we will illustrate a particular case of this problem related to Industrial Economics. Indeed while the classical theory assumes homogeneity among firms in a given industry, the data collected in the last years show a persisten heterogeneity in time among such firms.
