Phase ordering in the presence of long-range interactionsPhase ordering is the relaxation process towards equilibrium following
a temperature quench across a critical point.
Here we discuss this phenomenon in magnetic systems with long-range
interactions decaying with distance r as 1/r^a and we focus on the
one-dimensional Ising model.
With increasing the exponent a we pass from "pure" mean-field behavior
for a=0 to a coarsening dynamics for a>1, where there is the formation
and growth of ordered domains.
