Exponential ergodicity of a stochastic model of geophysical fluid dynamicsWe study the long-time average behaviour of a two-layer quasi-geostrophic model with the upper layer perturbed by additive noise. This model is popular in the geosciences, for instance to study the effects of a stochastic wind forcing on the ocean. We discuss results on the exponential convergence of solutions laws to the invariant measure (exponential ergodicity) under this spatially degenerate noise configuration.
