A latent-variable model for daily trip mobility networks applied to real-world origin-destination visitation flowsIn the following talk, I will present a theoretical justification of scaling laws in human mobility patterns. A visitation model is presented through a latent-variable dynamical network as multipurpose drivers for travel demand. A series of scaling behaviors of the origin-destination flows among areas of a region can be explained by the model which reproduces statistical regularities observed in real-world cases by making use of large human mobility datasets. Economic implications are disccused in the field of trasportation economics.
